take note

Do you get lots of mail? Especially those kinds with nice little windows on the front?

We do. Since owning this business, we get at least a dozen business related letters a week and the envelopes quickly mount up. I've never been able to just throw them out and in the past I've used the whole envelope to write up my shopping lists or a quick note to let a child know which chores to do while I was out!

The pile of envelopes was mounting up and it was time to put them to use, so we spent an afternoon roughly cutting around the edges, snipping off the 'window' bit and leaving a nice stack of different sized notelets.

I'm a bit of a bowerbird. See how pretty all the backs are? I'd love to have the time to find something really creative to do with all the different colours on the reverse sides but have to content myself with using the coloured sides just to scribble on! I'm sure there'd be something else to use these for and perhaps you have some better ideas. If so, I'd love to know!

  2. What agreat idea. I have found the paper in envelopes is quite strong and is excellent to turn into recycled paper sheets.

  4. I also jot down lists on them with all the raggedy edges, they look so lovely cut up like that.

I have seen them used as pages in journals along with other recycled papers.

  5. I know some people turn these into "junk Journals" or "Smash Books".

Oh yes please, do leave a comment! I will admit I don't always answer, although I do mean to, but I always read them and love to hear what you say!
