rainbows, thankyou & a gift for you

Do you remember the Colour Code Challenge that I initiated quite a few months back? Did you join in? If so, I hope you enjoyed searching your photo archives for the chosen colours and had fun re-discovering pics you'd forgotten about. I did! Of course, in my enthusiasm about the idea, I had forgotten that I was heading overseas and so my dear Best Man (who did not remain nameless but posted Stuy on every one, sigh) very kindly posted the remaining photos for me. It worked rather well - I made up the drafts with the chosen photos before I left and he did the commentary! And he quite enjoyed it too....... especially all the lovely comments many of you left for him!
Thank you my love, you did an awesome job!!

And I wanted to thank everyone that took part and made the whole thing so much fun...it wouldn't have been the same without you all! I know, I know, I got a bit slack towards the end and didn't visit here or anywhere as much as I should have.... but hey, I was having Holiday Fun and Living In The Moment!! And I realise this is a very belated Thank You....... what can I say? Life is busy!!!

The first photo is what magically appeared in the next paddock after some rain..... I was hoping to find the pot of gold but my children are old enough now, to not believe in such 'childish things' and wouldn't accompany me - how times have changed!
Next is my dear brother wearing Fairy Girls rainbow hat and last is some rainy day painting.

This one is not quite a rainbow but I did try to add in some red, blue, violet and a touch more green........ can you see them?

Once again I have been seized by sudden inspiration and have decided to give someone, somewhere a gift to say thanks for joining in, thanks for stopping by, thanks for making it all worthwhile keeping a blog! I bought these two skeins of hand dyed wool last year and I think it's time some one made use of them. There are 200grams of Corriedale wool and the colours are almost the same as in the photo......... maybe a little bit lighter in real life!

So, if you would like to knit or crochet something funky with this wool, you can leave me a comment and I will draw a winner one day soon...... alright, I'll be more specific and I'll make it..... umm..... Monday the 19th November because that is a whole week and I don't like waiting a long time when I'm  wanting to win something, so I don't suppose others do either!! And maybe if you are a follower* you can leave two comments just because I feel like maybe you are friends and I want to do something extra nice for you!

Here's hoping you all have a really awesome week, with many brightly coloured rainbows and some life giving spring rains for those of you that need it!

*Can someone please give me a nicer word to use instead of 'follower'? I feel a bit like the Bhagwan or some other guru!!

colour: white

Welcome back to Evi's blog

I'm rather fond of white actually, it gives me a feeling of tranquility somehow, and calmness.

Lets see what this weeks photo's have to offer.

First up we have all the karate clothes hanging on the line. It's obviously spring time on a beautiful sunny day.

Here's some flowers from the garden. Not to sure what they are, but if you look closely, you will see a bug sitting on one of the flowers.

Next you can see three white Land Rovers. The centre one is Evi's & mine, the other two belong to our two eldest boys. Everybody's Land Rover mad in our family.

One of the neighbours cows, looking out over the back fence.

Obviously some of Evi's finds from the Op shop. She loves all this sort of stuff.

Three more flower photo's. Not sure what or where, but Evi's camera takes some great shots.

Everyone can relate to the beach. I really love beach energy, it's just peaceful and serene. Just love the seagull.

Some More flowers. I'm just not up on flowers I'm afraid, so can't give you any info to these, but they look very attractive.

Lastly we have a spiders web on a frosty morning. There's been plenty of frost lately, and snow this last week.

Strictly speaking, white is not a color, but the manifestation of the presence of all color - the complete energy of light. It stands for wholeness and completion. In many cultures it represents openness and truth. White has a cold quality. It can provide clarity as its energy is complete.
White has purification vibrations and can be used to clear blocks from your path.
It holds the potential to move toward every other color and this makes it a good choice for new beginnings, and development in any direction.

Put some white in your life when you want:

To clear clutter & obstacles away
To start a fresh beginning
To bring about mental clarity
Purification of thoughts or actions

Hope you've enjoyed this weeks colour post

love to all

colour: grey

Welcome back to Evi's blog

Ok, time for this weeks colour post. Grey has always come across to me as rather neutral, and is doesn't inspire in me any emotion at all. Let's see what photo's we have for this week.

First up we have some driftwood and stones from the seashore. Typical of what you are likely to see around the coastline of Tasmania. Sandy beaches as well, but also a lot of stone.

Ominous grey cloud formations in the late afternoon sky. Don't know where this photo was taken. Probably on one of our road trips around Tassie.

Here we have fairly girl poking her head out of the window, of one of our friends gypsy wagons. Love the grey weathered timber.

Some stunning flowers, but I'm at a loss as to where or what.

Not to sure what this next photo is, but I would say it's been taken in a graveyard or church, on one of our many road trips around Tassie.

You can see how lush and green the Tasmanian landscape can be after a good dose of rain. I think this photo was taken at a place called Cressy.

Last we have a flock of native ducks swimming on the dam at the back of our property. All kinds of animals live there from time to time, including platypus and swans.

Gray is the true neutral color. Its energy imparts void, emptiness, lack of movement, emotion, warmth and identifying characteristics. Because of this, gray can be restful.

It has a detached and isolated feeling. Gray can have a cooling effect when placed next to other more vibrant colors. It has a stabilizing effect, making vibrant colors stand out while muting their vibration.

Put some grey in your life when you want:

to emphasize your willingness to comply
a neutral, non-invasive feeling
to reduce the intense energy of another colour
to feel detached or isolated

Hope you've enjoyed this weeks colour post

Love to all

colour: black

Welcome back to Evi's blog

Black is certainly not my favourite shade, but it has it's uses. Actually, I don't like it at all. It's dark and dreary, and I don't find it uplifting.

But lets have a look at the photo's and see what we have.....

This first photo was one of the traction engines on display at Steamfest, our local show that's put on once a year here in Sheffield. This particular engine is the oldest traction engine in the southern hemisphere, and there is only two in existence worldwide.

Glamour evening wear. Don't know where Evi scrounged this up from, but one would assume it's one of those treasured finds from an Op shop somewhere. She loves hoarding all this sort of stuff.

The organic & sustainable field day at Penguin (Tasmanian north coast), is where these cute little porkers where snapped. From memory, I think there were many snotty little piglets as well. Pigs can be fun, but there messy.

I remember taking this photo on our way down back to Tasmania, from Wauchope NSW. This particular church is in Victoria, and Evi and me took a fancy to it. Can't remember what town it's from. Evi and me really love doing road trips together when we get the chance.

Looks like some elderberries. We have a patch of them growing in our paddock. Don't know what these were used for. The kids in the background are offering all kinds of differing opinions, so I'm totally confused. Just don't know...

An old sewing machine, don't know its age and can't remember where we took this photo. I must say, it looks particularly old.

I'm very familiar with the last photo. This is the unique, and rather appealing "Tassie Barrel Heater". Manufactured by me right here in Sheffield. This heater started life once as an 18gal stainless steel bear barrel. We ship these heaters Australia wide.

Black may make some people think of depression, but it doesn't have to. It's a very dramatic shade; many artists were nothing but black. It can denote mystery, something hidden - or maybe an introvert who's been around crowds to long, could use it to hide from people. In this sense, it can be a very protective shade, but I think in general, most people would consider the shade black to be a very dense, stagnant type of energy.

Thanks for calling in again  !!

colour: violet/purple

Hi everyone, and welcome back to Evi's blog.

Evi's selected a great set of photo's this time round. She loves the camera that I bought for her last Xmas, a Nikon D3100, and just loves flashing it around Europe. Mind you, she hasn't sent me one single photo of her doing something exciting via email yet. Evi, you've been a slacker, most remiss of you, but I know your having just the most fab time of it all. Half your luck !!

Lets run through this weeks photo's and and see what I can make of them.

Looks like we have a beautiful honey bee scrumaging through the flower of a scotch thistle plant. They must be the most dreaded thistle of all. I remember cleaning out half a paddock of them last year.

The next photo looks like sage, but I can't be certain.

Next is the view looking from the rear of our property, out across some loverly green paddocks, and on to Mt Roland in the background. This mountain is 1234m high, and well worth the climb up if you think your feeling fit enough.

One of our great colour parties. L to R we have Shamir, Belz, Nina, Evi & Layla. We love to dress up in colour themes just for the fun of it, and revel around the house having yummy things to eat & drink. With lots of humour thrown in for good measure.

One of Evi's violet cups and teapots.

This photo is obviously some type of plant, but really wouldn't have a clue.

Looks like the flower of a "hearts ease" plant. I think my spellings wrong ??

One of fairy girls favourite dresses

Some beautiful birthday candles, can't remember what we used these ones for.

The most radiant passionfruit flower. Striking, yet peaceful.

Violet is the colour of good judgement. It is the colour of people seeking spiritual fullfilment. It is said, if you surround yourself with violet, you will have peace of mind. Violet is also a good colour to use in meditation.

Put some violet in your life if you want to

Use your imagination to it's fullest
Re-balance your life
Remove obstacles
Calm overactivity, and to re-energise from depression

Hope you've enjoyed the colour violet.

colour: indigo

Hi everyone, and welcome back to Stuy's blog (at least for the moment).
As you all may be aware, I haven't selected the photo's. Evi put them all into drafts before she left, so lets go through them and see what we have.

Earlier in the year, we visited a local blueberry farm, and picked 18kg to put in our freezer for safe keeping. We often invent yummy breakfasts with them like the one pictured. A few blueberries, some bananas and whatever else, and yummo ....

Some beautiful iridescent starfish at one of our northern beaches.

Looks like one of our winter solstice bonfires. We love to celebrate solstice, especially winter. It's nice and chilly, we can drink loads of gluhwein (one of those yummy Austrian concoctions), and toast lots of marshmallows.

Now the towels, I just know I've seen them, but where the heck ??? I just can't seem to place it. But the pigeon hole cupboard has a definite attraction. Love that kind of thing.

Looks like one of my brother in laws peacocks. He has several, and there're very attractive I must say.

The last photo I can't place. It could be from down here in Tasmania, or perhaps a seashore spot from one of our travels. We've done numerous trips up and down the east coast of Australia from Melbourne to Brisbane. So love that travelling.

Some other thoughts on Indigo

Indigo is the colour of the deep midnight sky. It can have a negative effect when used during a depressed state, because it will deepen the mood. Indigo symbolises a mystical borderland of wisdom, self mastery and spiritual realization. While blue is the colour of communication with others. indigo turns the blue inward, to increase personal thought, profound insights and personal understandings. While blue can be fast, indigo is almost instantaneous. Inventors use indigo skills for inspirations that seem to "come out of the blue".

Put some indigo in your life when you want to

Focus on personal issues
Develop intuition
Step outside of everyday life for a new and interesting way of viewing a problem
Solitude and inner communication

Thanks for being here again

colour: blue

There's a lot of water and sky in these blue pics.
Not my favourite colour, I'm very much a green person, but still it's part of the natural spectrum and has an equal place.

Blue is the color of distance - oceans, skies, the heavens. The energy of blue helps us to look beyond the immediate environment, expanding our perceptions towards the unknown.

Blue is the colour of divinity, it brings:

Peace and understanding
Enhances the easy flow of communication with yourself and others
Calms & relaxes

Blue has the power to invoke deep relaxation, perhaps this is why people like sea views, sitting at lakes and rivers, and finding uses for the colour blue in there everyday life.

The blue lake you see above is located in N/E Tasmania (out past Scottsdale)

Evi's up at Lismore, visiting her family before flying out on Tuesday. She flies with her Ipad, so can view the blog and keep in touch. She'll probably do a few posts from Europe, and keep you all informed.

If anyone needs a holiday, it's Evi. She's done the most incredible job as a mother, and loving companion for the last 30 years, and she's really someone I couldn't imagine ever being without.

I'm always with you
I honour you

Love to all:

Stuy .. (the best man)
