My Golden Girl sent me an email* earlier this week -
Hey ma,
Just wanted to write quickly to say that the plants are all up and doing fabulously!! The zucs will need to be planted out soon as their roots are escaping the pots, so I hope you have somewhere for them to live. It's all very exciting in the edible veg department here. Our tomatoes have so many flowers! We have blackberries ripening rather quickly also, should have an amazing crop this year with all these bees around. How's the polytunnel coming along?
Today I want to take drugs and drink alcohol. Lots and lots! And be unmarried and unmothered and have no morals. I don't want to go to bed early, or cook tea or think about housework. I don't want to do anything for anyone else.
I think I'm dismally failing to be grateful today! I am grateful for the sunshine after the rain though...

ReplyDeleteOoooh yeeeah... I definitely have days/moments like that over here too Golden Girl, pretty sure all Mothers do... you are not alone... huge hugs xx
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling - great big mum hugs are called for - they work long distance too. I often send huge hugs via text, email, or phone to my special girl in London x
ReplyDelete: ) One of THOSE days.... what a blessing to have her dear mama to express it to!
ReplyDeleteI think we all have those sorts of days. It is so good you have such a good relationship that she can say to you how she feels and know you will always be there for her. I hope today is a better day for her.
ReplyDeleteI hear you loud and clear....
ReplyDeletecheers Kate
Oh, thank you all beautiful ladies, I do need lots of hugs some days! It's just never ending circle isn't it? And sometimes I just want there to be a corner!! I think some teeth are coming through... Ma, you're very cheeky! It's sort of funny reading it now though..
ReplyDeleteI feel a bit like that myself today and it's got nothing to do with teething babies. But I do remember the overwhelming feeling of mothering that existed for me when my children were small. It's a lovely image of all these hugs being sent though the blogoshere to your daughter and I add mine to them.
ReplyDeletebless her. and i love that she is so safe with you to share her heart, all of it.
