fun at the fair

Sheep, lovely hairy ones.

Sheep shearing, with old hand cranked clippers. Poor sheep looked very cold after their trim!

An old time bullocky and his team

Chickens.... some of which came home with us.....

A nice man with his Australian Stock horse. He rode it round and round, cracking his whip the whole time and then showed us a few fancy horse tricks!

His horse was so placid and beautiful..... with the nicest shaped behind!!!

More birdlife, this time on a cushion. The lady making these was using a very modern sewing machine, which was a perfect contrast to.........

......this one, being used by Mathew for his doll clothes.

I was also fortunate to meet a fellow blogger, Lee of Killiecrankie Farm, who has just started up a nursery and was selling all sorts of healthy herbs and flowers. Lovely to meet you, Lee!
Two fellow bloggers actually, although I only discovered that as we were all packing up!! Apple Island Wife who I love to visit now and again for her very witty way of writing about those mundane things in the life of a wife, was also there with her Langdale Farm pork products.

It's a bit funny meeting other bloggers. All of a sudden the 'things' on my screen are there in real life and I need to remind myself that what I see on my screen is real life..... other peoples real life. It makes me realise that there are people reading my blog who I have never met and yet I'm putting a bit of myself out there for them to get to know. It's all a bit strange really because should we ever meet up, you, my readers, will already know certain aspects of my life without ever having spoken to me. I'm getting a bit muddled just thinking about it!! Suffice to say, that I did enjoy meeting these two busy mamas and wish them luck in their businesses!

  4. I completely agree. Blog reading is kind of, well, surreal. I often forget that folk are reading about my life all of the time and have that same incomplete view of my life, that I have of others. Oh! But how I love it ♥
What were you selling at the markets Evi?
I"m so pleased there was a pic of Matthew's machine in this post. I was looking for it in the last one on his life/dolls. What an incredible man? How does he shelter everything in bad weather?
Thanks for sharing Evi. I LOVE visiting over here ღ
