making me happy.....

........lots of calendula petals looking pretty in the late afternoon sun - these have now been immersed in macadamia nut oil and will eventually be calendula salve.

.......more healing herbs - this time gifted to me by a dear friend and already being used by one small boy with many bumps and bruises!

......loving these tiny hearts ease blossoms. Not many in the garden at the moment but seeing their cheery faces peep up at me is so....well....... cheering!!

........and of course, something for the babe that doesn't want to face the world just yet! Made by me from new op shop cotton interlock and embroidered by it's impatient mama (after this pic was taken!)

The babe is quite a way overdue now and everything has been tried to encourage it to join us - my nerves are a little tattered, the new mama's are a little frayed and all the prospective aunts and uncles are getting VERY impatient!!

  3. It's the weekend now - perhaps he/she will make it's arrival this Sunday morning - that is what my son did 25+ years ago - waited for a weekend.

  4. The little nighty for the babe is so cute. All the best for you and your daughter. One of my daughters has arrived fro Melbourne and the other comes on Monday hoping to see our new little one. Let's hope it arrives before they have to go back. It will be nice for them to spend some time with their sister anyway and take her mind off the waiting a little!!

  5. Poor Mum-to-be! There is nothing worse. I'd like to share my tips on bringing bubby on. You may already know them. They are quite safe but a little personal to share here. You can contact me at greenhaven@skymesh.com.au. By the way heartsease are one of my favouite flowers though they always look a little stunted in my dry garden! Here's hoping the baby has arrived before you get this comment!

  7. Star - I have used clary sage for one of mine during labour.... not sure if it helped but oh mama it sure smelt divine! And I'm hearing ya on the stars, tonight it will make it into pisces - perhaps it was waiting!!

Thanks Linda and Becky - I'm needing some encouragement!!

Kate - my 19dd is leaving to work in NSW in mid March and is hoping to spend at least a few weeks with her sister and the babe! We'll see.....
I'm sure your girls will have a lovely time catching up and snuggling baby!

    Linda, I'll be in touch!!

Jo - I agree, they do come when they are ready! Mine were all over due - between 1 and 3 weeks - so dd is just following on from mum!! It's a pity that the medical profession doesn't realise that the best thing is to wait! She's having a homebirth but through a birthing centre so the midwife is bound a bit by the hospital protocol.

Thank you to all of you for your encouraging words - so nice to share my dilemma's with you!!
