happy new year!

Its 2017 and I've been away from this space for more than a year!! Oh my! Its been an extremely busy year and I just couldn't find the brain capacity to share much here. My life has become quite a bit different to how its been for almost 30 years - which part of me is happy about and another part mourns for. And I suppose thats another reason for not writing here.....I'm not doing/making/creating many of the things I used to post about and just couldn't find new ideas and new words! I've been mulling all year whether to start a whole new blog, continue this one but with different types of interests or stop blogging altogether. Decisions!

I like writing. I like to share. I like interaction and inspiration. But I have changed. I have been Changed. For a while I did not know myself. Now, though, I am forging a new path and although I am still the old me, theres a new me too. I'm learning to embrace the new while still being true to the old bits that stood me in good stead for so long. And thats the same in this space - I'm doing many new activities and creativities and less of others and I've needed to get it 'right' within myself before changing or deleting this blog.

I hope that whoever is still stopping by here continues to 'hear' what they heard in the first place - love of family, passion for creativity, interests in all sorts of weird and wonderful things! If you have been following these rambles for a while and are still popping in from time to time, thank you. I truly hope that you will still enjoy reading my thoughts and following along whatever new path is opening itself up before me. I'm sure there will be art involved, new places visited, radical thoughts, different achievements and a whole new outlook on life.

In gratitude, Evi

  1. HI Evi, You just took the words straight out of my mouth. I'm an old (for want of a better word) blogger as well but haven't blogged for a while. As you say, life changes direction, sometimes we get caught up in other interests and finding the time is always up there on the list! I'm yearning to find my place again. I've been very involved with my children over the years and have made no time for me!! My life has changed but my essence is the same just wondering what path I'm going to go down next, I've been browsing bloggers for a couple of days now soaking up volumes of motivation and inspiration!
It's nice to meet you Evi, I'll be popping back again.
    warm regards
    Karen

  3. Hi Karen, I do remember your lovely blog and was sad when you no longer posted (which I think was not long after you moved house?). Having said that, I spent less time visiting other blogs as well these last few years and I'm sure there will be a few that have 'folded'. When I started blogging I was in desperate need of a new creative outlet and some connection, both of which were covered wonderfully, then there have been some turbulent years where I just couldn't think straight and now I've got he creative bit covered but need to rekindle that feeling of community.
Children do tend to take over ones life though, don't they, and then we suddenly realise that we'd completely forgotten to nurture ourselves and maybe its time, right now! Looking forward to reconnecting with you, whether it be here or at your 'place' ;)
All the best in finding time for you,
    Evi

  4. Hello Meg! What a nice surprise to find your comment and your blog! I'm sure I haven't seen it before but I shall be popping in for a visit.....especially when its cold here and I need some of that warmth you have in the north! I shall attempt to continue to write interesting news and other bits and look forward to future 'chats'!
    All the best, Evi

Oh yes please, do leave a comment! I will admit I don't always answer, although I do mean to, but I always read them and love to hear what you say!
