repurposing stockings

We have been having a bit of a rearrange and clean out in the children's bedroom. Its all a bit different around here now that there are no younger siblings to pass clothes down to and the Too Smalls tend to stay in cupboards for Too Long! When we found several pairs of good quality wool and cotton stockings tucked away, we were reluctant to send them to the op shop and wracked our brains thinking of a way to reuse them.

Our Fairy goes to ballet lessons twice a week and has been wanting some fancy ballet leggings, so we cut off the toes and a nice round hole for the heel and voila!!! New Ankle Warmers!
Be warned though and only cut a fairly small hole for the heel - ours was a tad too big - the knitted stuff does stretch quite a bit!

So in less than 5 minutes we had a toasty pair of ankles and had saved ourselves me quite a bit of cash!! They would also make great wrist warmers if you cut a small hole for your thumb.
Now we are hunting around for some more pairs….. !!

  4. Gosh Linda, it was hardly a craft!!! Just my stingy nature using something that saved me from buying it new!! And yes, she is waiting impatiently for the weather to cool down !!!

Oh yes please, do leave a comment! I will admit I don't always answer, although I do mean to, but I always read them and love to hear what you say!
