in july

I like July.
Its the month after Winter Equinox.
The days are lengthening.
We celebrate two birthdays and then have a big birthday break until November.

I spent half a day every Friday, stopping and starting the music for a bit of *ballet exam practice. The Fairy has taken to ballet like the proverbial duck to water, which is not surprising considering she has wanted to do ballet classes for a number of years.

There were some serious frosts and a few good blankets of snow early in the mornings.

We knitted! Now that I am a knitter (haha!) the children were all inspired to have a go too! So here we are all with a project - a couple of learning squares, a beanie and the beginnings of the 'in three's' cardigan for the Tiny Elf.

There was even a foray into painting, both watercolours and acrylics. I love all that arty stuff but there is just so little room in this teeny shack, that it doesn't get done nearly enough.

*She has now done the exam and passed and we are all glad its over till next year!

**This half finished post has been lurking in the drafts folder all month! I know its the end of August but I just wanted to get it out there!!!

Thanks for dropping in! xx

  1. So glad to have you posting again. I have missed you. Can't comment on the photos though as it's the end of the month and our download has all but gone. Look forward to revisiting soon to see all your lovely photos.

  2. Hooray I have my down load back. Painting is beautiful and you do continental knitting. I tried once but just couldn't get it. You can email me on kate(at)purplepearfarm(dot)com(dot)au.

Oh yes please, do leave a comment! I will admit I don't always answer, although I do mean to, but I always read them and love to hear what you say!
