all good here

Yes, thank you Linda, for your concern...... we are all safe here in the Northern parts of Tassie. Which is of course not the case for so many people in the far south east of the state...... it's a terrifying thought, isn't it, to lose everything you own in a bushfire.

I received an email last night from a lovely Steiner based company, Spiral Garden, where I have purchased home education related goodies in the past, and I'll copy it below for you..... perhaps you can help.

Bushfires in Tasmania - How can we help?

Hello Gardeners ♥ A few of you have asked if we're ok down here in beautiful Tasmania...
Well our little family are safe and well. The sky is full of smoke and there's an eerie silence, ash and charred leaves falling from the sky and a sense of urgency about. We are full of gratitude that our little corner of Hobart, just across the river from the fires, has been spared. But we know lots of people who are away from home, unable to contact loved ones, or who have lost everything.... People have been helping out in the loveliest of ways, dropping food and supplies off, defending friends property, ferrying supplies and people where they are needed... We are looking for ways our family can help. There is so much to be done whether you are near or far.
As many of our gorgeous customers are interstate, we'd like to help you to help out a bit. For every sale made in the next few days, until 10pm Wednesday evening, we will donate the cost of shipping towards the Bendigo Bank's Bushfire Appeal. So that's $9 from every sale towards helping out with the bushfires. If there's something you've had your eye on or have been putting off buying for a little while, we urge you to make your purchase now and let's see how much we can raise!
With love,
Oberon & Lauren. xx

I've been incredibly busy since my man departed and although I have loads of ideas to blog about, I just never seem to get to the computer to post them! The garden is needing so much of my time, and I'm still recovering from the Christmas melee, but I will be back more regularly when I've re-organised my days - which really means when I've made new lists and routines!!

Thanks so much for your kind thoughts......

  1. Well how good to hear from you! I feel so much for all those poor shell shocked people in Tassie. Let's hope they see the same generosity that Australians showed on Black Saturday. Stay safe Evi.

  2. So glad you are safe. Have been wondering about all my blogger friends in Tassie, not knowing where you are in relation to the fires.

Oh yes please, do leave a comment! I will admit I don't always answer, although I do mean to, but I always read them and love to hear what you say!
