I like orange although I don't give it much thought....... it's sort of an in between colour, and I can't think of anything that really jumps out that is the colour orange - not like red fire engines or blue sea or forest of green. Orange just is. It's a comfortable shade somewhere between red and yellow, which are the two colours it's made up of.
When I think of orange I see images of oranges and mandarins on our fruit tree's when we lived in NSW and glorious sunsets but thats about all! Looking back at my photo's, I see that there's obviously a whole lot more!
I spent a bit of time looking for some links about orange and found several (thousand!) but there were a couple that stood out. I linked to this lovely site for 'red', it popped up again and has some really interesting trivia.
There's a short history about orange pigments through the ages and from there, I discovered a stunning orange painting. Have a look at the painting here and read some interesting facts about the artist.
I'll be posting a colour each Monday and would love you to scrounge through your archives and share some of those photo's that you'd forgotten you had!
Remember that you can join in by adding your link to the Linky link below. Please leave a message after you've linked just to say HI!!

ReplyDeleteDon't you just love the way those saffron milk caps just ooze orange, amazing they are so tasty as they do look very wrong. Loving that psychadelic sunset.
