Hmm, so much for blogging regularly! Summer has flown by in a blur of green and already it's March again. I am already noticing some yellow amongst the trees along the highways and byways - it is a lovely change but I do have mixed feelings about the onset of Autumn. I love the colours to come - red, orange and yellow in a whole range of hues; I love flying leaves and leaves crunching underfoot and I love brisk clear days. I don't love the cold cold cold or the dreariness of cloudy foggy days.
It was the equinox two days ago, equal day and night, but I have been busy with our new Waldorf curriculum and just didn't have any energy left to organise our usual feast. I have given up feeling slack or guilty about not doing certain things - now if we miss a feast or have a less than a brilliant birthday celebration, well, no matter. Life flows on and we do other activities instead.
Maybe it's the cooler weather. Maybe I'm just feeling like a new challenge. Whatever. I'm taking up knitting!! I had an urge to buy some gorgeous hand spun and dyed wool from a very talented local lady and hope to turn it into a shawl sometime before spring!! There is only one skein of each colour except the orange, yellow, green (or should I say tangelo, lemon, sage!) so I'll be knitting something small. Thats okay because I like something quick so I can move on! Perhaps a shawl for our Fairy Girl .......
